The United Church of Canada
Wesley Mimico United Church is one of about 3000 congregations and 500 other ministries which make up the United Church of Canada (UCC). Since the middle of the 19th century the congregation has been present in the Mimico area as both Methodist and Presbyterian churches. In 1925, the Presbyterian, Methodist, Congregationalist, and Local Union churches joined to give birth to the UCC, added to in 1968 by congregations of the Evangelical United Brethren. As a united church, WMUC seeks to foster close cooperation with other local churches and faith communities in order to foster God’s mission of blessing creation.
