What To Expect

What is a service like?

Our worship service combines traditional and modern approaches. Some of our music is modern and some is traditional hymn song. There is something in our worship service to appeal to everyone, including the children for the first 15 minutes. We have communion once a month, usually on the first Sunday of the month.

—————

What to wear?

Whatever you like! Some people come in jeans. Some come in suits or dresses. We believe God is more interested in what’s inside your heart than what you’re wearing.

—————

What do you have for my family?

We have an active Church School program for children 3 and up. Your child will experience teaching, music, and activities all designed to build their character, and point them towards a closer walk with God.

Our nursery is staffed for young children. The children will be looked after while you enjoy the worship service.

For infants 0-2 there is a supervised nursery.

For children age 3-12 there is a group with teaching, music, drama, and fun.

Above 12, we encourage teens to join worship with their families.

—————

How do I get involved?

Just come to worship on a Sunday morning and discover God’s presence in worship and how friendly people are.
Sign the visitors book and indicate an e-mail address to get the Weekly Message to keep you aware of what’s happening in the WMUC community.

Children are welcome in the nursery or in the Church School.

Study groups in the autumn months and during Lent help learner grow in faith and commitment.

Singers are invited to be part of the choir.  It meets to practice on Thursdays at 7 p.m. and before worship on Sundays.

If you enjoy service in the community, the Mission and Outreach Committee welcomes people to the several food ministries and other engagement with the neighbourhood.

If you are member of another congregation but want to be included in the WMUC membership, you can transfer your membership and be received into WMUC membership.

For those who are ready to make a commitment to be a friend and companion of Jesus Christ and express this faith commitment through participation in this Christian Church – baptism and profession of faith are the rites by which this happens.  The baptism of children is celebrated upon request and is an indication of parents’ intention to actively raise their children in the faith, nurture, and mission of the Christian community.

All are invited and all are welcome.
